A project for an LGBTQ+ Literature course in college. It is a two-part collage on cardstock. It uses multiple pictures displayed in a specific manner, and when put together, displays a third picture in the center. It explores the dynamic relationship between Alison Bechdel and her father in Fun Home. It deals with the concepts of mirroring and the quote “two sides of the same coin”. The idea that they were such opposites in how they viewed gender and sexuality that they ended up being so similar in how they displayed both and weren’t so separate as they seem to be. Mirroring comes into play as it is a psychological display after watching another and copying their mannerisms, ideals, style, etc. This is often done subconsciously without much thought. This showcases my ability to do graphic design, but in a physical medium.
